17/04/08 - A first trout for Piero Manara of Monaco.
22/04/08 - A fantastic springer of 16lbs to Charlie Trevor fishing Gledfield, River Carron.
29/04/08 - My first salmon of the season, an 8½lbs springer from Upper Fairburn, River Conon.
24/04/08 - An 11lb spring salmon to Ryan Rutherford caught to our rods on Lower Fairburn, River Conon.
25/04/08 - A 9lb springer to Alan Mackenzie of Evanton fishing Gledfield, River Carron.

May
03/05/08 - 12 brown trout to 1¾lbs to Davy Brand and I fishing Loch Eye.
07/05/08 - Superb brownie nudging 3lbs for Martin James from Lancashire fishing Loch Eye.
10/05/08 - 7 'first trout' for an international team staying at Ardtalla - Clare Flynn Levy & Kevin Eyres (US), Ofir Kedar (Israel), Andy Thrasyvoulou (Cyprus), Russell Pullan (Canada), Clive Hunter & Doug Smith (UK).
17/05/08 - 18 brown trout up to 2lbs for Drew Logie and his boat partner fishing Loch Eye.
19/05/08 - 14 brownies to 1½lbs caught by John Milne fishing Beat 1, River Alness.
26/05/08 - 1st trout for Moira Ugoji from London

June
06/06/08 - 1st trout for Mel Scott from Portugal.
14/06/08 - 1st trout for Greg Ette.
15/06/08 - 1st trout for John Ette from France.
16/06/08 - A 3½lbs brown trout to Phil Done fishing Loch Meig.
27/06/08 - 1st trout for Trevor Mawhinney from Merseyside, a Loch Eye brownie.
28/06/08 - 1st guest grilse of the season from the River Alness, to John Cameron weighing in at 6½lbs.

July
03/07/08 - 1st trout for Steve Masters and Andy Jones from London.
04/07/08 - 1st trout for Bob Bashford from Essex, a 3½lbs rainbow trout caught on dry fly.
10/07/08 - 1st trout for 12 year old Alexander Coulet from France.
15/07/08 - 1st sea trout for Harry Lees-Buckley from London, a fish of 1¼ lbs caught at night on Beat 4, River Alness.
18/07/08 - 1st salmon for Giuseppi Orsi from Milan, Italy - a 4lbs grilse from Beat 6, River Alness.

August
01/08/08 - 1st salmon for Mark Taylor from Wiltshire, a 5lbs grilse for Beat 6, River Alness, followed up by his second the following day.
02/08/08 - 1st salmon for Phil Jenkins from Wiltshire, a 4lbs grilse from Beat 5, River Alness.
11/08/08 - 1st salmon caught by Ken Metcalfe on Beat 6, a grilse of 4½ lbs.
11/08/08 – Brothers Harry & Josh Peplow (13 & 12!) from Shropshire both caught grilse on Beat 3. Harry’s 5 lbs grilse was his first salmon, Josh having ‘got off the mark’ last year.
16/08/08 – 3 fresh grilse to Chris Peplow from Shropshire, all around 5 lbs from Beat 6. Chris also lost a fish estimated at 20-23lbs from Beat 2 on the 13th (it wasn’t a Friday).
16/08/08 – 1st salmon for Simon Ranner from Herts with a 5¾ lbs grilse from Beat 5.
16/08/08 – A cracking 15lbs fresh fish to John Currie from Essex caught from Beat 4. 22/08/08 – 1st salmon (and a youngest 1st salmon yet for me!) for 7 year old Henry Despard, with the capture of a 5½ lbs grilse from Beat 6 on Friday – an epic struggle never forgotten!
23/08/08 – 1st salmon for Svante Carllson from Sweden with a 4½ lbs grilse from Beat 4.
23/08/08 – 3 grilse to Stewart Woodhead fishing Beat 5
25/08/08 – 1st salmon for Harry Neal, a grilse from Beat 4.
29/08/08 – 1st salmon for William Despard, a 4 lbs grilse from Beat 5

September
01/09/08 – 1st salmon for Nigel Campbell caught from Beat 4.
02/09/08 – 1st salmon for Jonathan Matthews and Allison Campbell with fish of 7lbs and 5¾ lbs respectively from Beat 2.
03/09/08 – 1st salmon for Georgie Campbell from London, a 3lbs grilse from Beat 5.
17/09/08 – 3 salmon to David Ward fishing Beat 4.
19/09/08 - 1st salmon for Nick Fallowfield-Cooper, a 3 lbs grilse from Beat 2.
30/09/08 - 1st salmon for Darren Leete, a 3½ lbs grilse from Beat 5.

October
01/10/08 – 1st salmon for Kevin Barry, a 5lbs grilse from Beat 5.
04/10/08 – John Stables wins the Alex Stables cup fought for by Alex’s party, picking up the trophy for his 4 fish including an 11½ lbs salmon from Beat 6.
04/10/08 – 3 salmon to Mike Barlow from Oxfordshire caught on Beat 3.
08/10/08 - First 3 salmon ever for Shane Macdermott from Australia, fly fishing (with instruction) for the first time!
10/10/08 – 4 salmon for regular Peter Hukins from Kent fishing Beat 6.
10/10/08 – 1st and 2nd salmon for Tony Scott from Portugal
15/10/08 - 1st salmon to Pene Parker from Beat 1.
17/10/08 - John Cameron from Dingwall landed his biggest salmon ever, a fish estimated at +/- 20 lbs landed after nearly half an hour from the Miller’s pool Beat 6 and subsequently returned – superb!
17/10/08 - 1st salmon to Christin Aucunas who had travelled all the way from Barcelona, a 4 lbs grilse from Beat 4.
27/10/08 – 4 fish to Ian Dudgeon from the Black Isle off Beat 2 and 3 fish to Graham Shepherd from Wick off Beat 1.
28/10/08 – 1st ever salmon (& second!) to Phil Hughes from Beat 2.
30/10/08 – 3 salmon to Lewis Campbell from Wick off Beat 6 including his personal best a fish of 15 lbs.
31/10/08 – 4 salmon to George Doull from Wick from Beat 1, 3 salmon to Sandy Datta from Wick from Beat 5.
